My first real post in some days now.
Today, billions across the world celebrate something of great chronological importance but its nothing more than just another new day.
Your age won't reset today neither will your bank account triple today; as a matter of fact, your aging continues and chances are that you will lose more money today.
Notwithstanding, its important to always note a New Year for the simple fact that everything on Earth operates on a human-determined timer and we call ours Calendar.
So those of us that make use of the Gregorian Calendar just witnessed a new beginning (theoretically speaking).
Everyone seems to be celebrating and making 'resolutions'. The truth is, whatever you couldn't make up your mind on after 12 months, a single movement of the second-hand of your clock won't perform the magic.
And no, this year won't make you a better perhaps. If you get better, it won't be cause 14 replaced 13. No way. You will only get better cause you decided to and worked towards it - a decision and effort you could have made any other given year.
But New Year is still important though and perhaps calls for celebration too.
So I wish everyone (lovers and haters), a very blissful 365 days ahead.
And if you are down with the resolution thing, then this is for you:
Some of you just need to chill the fuck down. Seriously.
You take life way too serious and get worked up at the slightest thing.
Its crazy, really. None of us is leaving this planet alive so don't make it look like you've got the most bullshit to deal with.
I've got my own problems too but I don't let none of those shits to get the best of me nor act like I alone carry the world's burden.
"Anti this", "anti that" y'all should learn to take a breather cause the wicked truth is, if you can't find peace within yourself, you definitely can't give peace to others.
Even soldiers in battlefield are allowed to go with alcohol and cigarettes and those are people who will have bombs raining down on them, so how much more you that don't have those imminent dangers to worry about.
So take a chill pill.

As for the New Year celebrations; exactly 100 years ago this year, a man named David Epstein sent a letter to New York Times questioning the importance of this yearly celebration..
I think its worth reading:
"Can anyone intelligently explain why we are celebrating the New Year with so much pomp and enthusiasm? Can anyone give a sound reason why we are so happy when the old year passes into shadows of eternity and a new one takes its place? What is the cause of this great joy? Why all the noise and hurrahs? Is there any reason for all these festivities and jubilies? Was the old year so dreadful, so terrible? Has it caused us so much agony and pain that we must sing the song of redemption? Are we so certain that the New Year will bring us so much pleasure, comfort and luxury that we will become so intoxicated with joy? Is a New Year such a novelty to us that we should go wild over it? We know of old that one year passes away and another comes in its place; still everything remains as before".
(David Epstein. New York Times 1913.)
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
