"I joined/want to join politics to save my country".
No Sir/Ma, you joined politics first and foremost to enhance YOUR livelihood.
Check history, an astonishing majority of the people that have impacted positively on this planet have been non-politicians.
At what point did we reach the conclusion that it's only via political participation can one make a positive difference?
Don't get me wrong, all humans are political and politics is not a dirty game as claimed but the game is played in such a way that white and black lose their distinctions.
How many good hearts became politically active and didn't lose their virtues?
How many initial good intentions didn't go down the drain when the walls of politics closed in?
How many unfulfilled political promises do we witness in a year?
Well, its still good not to let the Old Guard stay hooked there but enough of the "I want to change the world via politics" promo.
